Woodbridge Soundly Beaten!!

Ipswich vs Woodbridge – Sunday 7th October 07

Ipswich 81 (52)
Tries 13 - Mike Di Ponio 4; Lloyd Pinnel 3 ; Josh James 2; Sam Gordon 1;
George Ray 1; Ben Watts 1; James Wheaton 1
Conversions 8 - Matt Drury 8

Woodbridge 0 (0)

A dry overcast morning saw a buoyant Ipswich side dominate a depleted Woodbridge 15 at Humber Doucy Lane. From the moment the whistle went Ipswich, sporting their new strip, stole possession and territory converting this into a substantial 52 points to zero score-line by half time.

The scale of superiority gave the Ipswich coaches opportunity to trial players away from their normal positions. This coupled with a rekindled Woodbridge spirit saw the visitors making some threatening play during the second half, though they were unable to convert this into points.

All in all any easy win for a developing Ipswich side though it was very pleasing to see effort in practice converting into sound delivery of the basics during the game. Whilst a number of boys played well Matt Drury’s performance in kicking 8 conversions is worthy of note .

A big thankyou to Tye for refereeing the match.

Next weeks game against Cambridge will be an altogether different experience,
